As the 2023 winter season comes to a close we want to take this chance to look back on the season's highs and lows, share presentation details and look forward to the upcoming summer season!
Finals season
We had five Ladybirds teams make finals this season, a wonderful effort by all! Our senior team, unfortunately, got knocked out in the first round of finals by a team who were tough competitors all season. We had both our 13&U teams make the grand final! Team Red came away with the win (pictured) while Team Black did not quite get over the line, going down by 2 in the big dance. Our 11&U players came out with determination during the finals series, Team Red made it to the prelim finals where they went down by a 3-point margin. Team Black made it straight into the grand final after an epic in-season effort to finish in the top 2. They unfortunately lost by 1 goal in the grand final. We are super proud of all our Ladybirds teams this finals season!
Carnivals
The SUNA 11&U and 13&U carnival took place on the 30th of July and Ladybirds had 4 teams competing in the rain. Our 11&U team black were undefeated all day, coming away with the grand final win (pictured)
Our youngest Ladybirds played in the 9&U carnival at SUNA on the 27th of August. It was a fun day full of costumes, face paint and netball by coaches, umpires and players! We hope all involved had a wonderful day!
Presentations
Come along to celebrate the end of the season with the Ladybirds Netball Club!
Inter and seniors presentation dinner will be at Carmel's Bar and Grill in McLaren Vale this Saturday 9th of September. Junior presentations will be held at Koorana Gymnastics which is located near the Marion Leisure and Fitness Centre (https://goo.gl/maps/gvRSLQp6isfQq9sp8) on the 17th of September. Summer 23/24 season
The summer season is right around the corner! Team placement letters went out to all 9&U - inter teams today (check your junk mail!) with senior placements being sent out in the coming days. Pre-season will be on the 14th and 21st of September and meet the coach night on the 28th of September. The summer season starts on the 10th of October!
Lil' Ladybirds
Congratulations to our Winter23 Lil' Ladybirds who braved the cold & wind and completed their 6-week program. Thank you to Jo, Leanne and Lexi for coaching these future Ladybird stars! Keep an eye out for our summer program starting around February 2024!
SUNA umpires course
Have you ever wanted to pick up the whistle and learn another side of the game? Now is your chance! SUNA's beginner's umpires course is starting Tuesday the 19th of September for 8 weeks. It is designed to get you ready to hit the court with support from skilled and experienced facilitators.
Start date - Tuesday 19th September 2023
Finish date - Sunday 22nd October 2023
Times - 6.30pm until 8.30pm
Cost - $65 plus PlayHQ booking fee (includes an umpire trainee shirt and whistle)
Age - 12 and over

Please note, there are limited places available. If the course does not have enough interest it will not go ahead. Participants must be available for all 8 training sessions, missing one or more will invalidate the course. At the conclusion of the course new umpires must be available for Friday night games.
